As the year-end and New Year season approaches, warm acts of kindness are continuing at Gusanwon, a residential facility for people with severe disabilities located in Buk-myeon, Cheonan City, South Chungcheong Province.

According to Gusanwon on the 10th, local Cheonan-based companies Saerom FS and Geumjin Foods, along with the Korea Rural Community Corporation Cheonan Branch and the Cheonan City Reporters Association, practiced neighborly love by delivering donated goods and financial support.

Saerom FS donated 20 boxes of chicken sets and food items worth approximately KRW 4 million. The company, which also provided donations of a similar scale in August, has supported Gusanwon consistently for the past 10 years, establishing itself as a reliable supporter within the local community.

Young-min Noh, CEO of Saerom FS, stated,

“As a company that has grown together with the local community, we are pleased to have the opportunity to give back. We will continue our social contribution activities and put the value of sharing into practice.”

Geumjin Foods donated 50 sacks of 10 kg rice worth approximately KRW 3 million on the same day. CEO Se-yoon Jung said,

“We are very happy to be able to share, and we will continue to explore various ways to support neighbors in need and provide regular donations.”

Despite challenging economic conditions, the two companies have demonstrated social responsibility and taken the lead in ESG management, including a joint donation of KRW 40 million in 2023 to support children with leukemia and pediatric cancer. Beyond being simple donors, Saerom FS and Geumjin Foods have become strong pillars of support for the local community, helping to make the Cheonan community warmer through consistent acts of sharing.

On the same day, the Korea Rural Community Corporation Cheonan Branch and the Cheonan City Reporters Association also joined the meaningful initiative. The Cheonan Branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation donated Onnuri gift certificates worth KRW 800,000, demonstrating warm consideration for both the local economy and welfare, while the Cheonan City Reporters Association contributed seven sacks of 20 kg rice to support people with severe disabilities.

Kwon Neung, Director of Gusanwon, expressed his gratitude, saying,

“We sincerely thank Saerom FS, Geumjin Foods, the Korea Rural Community Corporation Cheonan Branch, and the Cheonan City Reporters Association for delivering donations despite the recent economic difficulties. We will use the valuable donated goods and funds to purchase and provide essential items for people with severe disabilities.”

This donation is being recognized as a model case of companies growing together with the local community while practicing the value of sharing. With the support received, Gusanwon will be able to provide a stable living environment for residents with severe disabilities, while the local community is becoming a warmer place through solidarity among companies and institutions.
